DICKERSON VINEYARD
Established 1971 with the purchase of a bearing vineyard of the Napa Valley’s only Ruby Cabernet vines and of very old Zinfandel vines.  Zinfandel that proved so singularly distinctive, Robert Parker, Jr. thought he was tasting Chateau Mouton, a premier French Bordeaux.  Parker also praised DICKERSON VINEYARD as "The Martha's Vineyard of Zinfandel.”

BIOGRAPHY: WILLIAM J. DICKERSON, M.D.
William Dickerson divides time practicing psychiatry in Marin, teaching medical students in San Francisco, and growing award winning Napa Valley Zinfandel, Merlot & Ruby Cabernet for Ravenswood and his own Dickerson Vineyard label. An Associate Professor of Psychiatry, University of California, San Francisco, Dickerson taught classes and conducted wine tastings for The Napa Valley Wine Appreciation Course for 20 years. His internationally published wine writings range from vintages of Chateau Latour and the vineyards of Germany to "The Medical & Therapeutic Values of Wine" in The University of California/Sotheby Book of California Wines. He has served as Wine Judge for the California State Fair at Los Angeles, the Board of Governors of The Wine and Food Society of San Francisco and as President of The Society of Medical Friends of Wine. A Napa Valley winegrower since 1971, wines from his small West Zinfandel Lane vineyard have been acclaimed among The Wine Spectator’s “100 Most Exciting Wines of The World".
